I have a podcast called "Sincere Tweets" where I interview other Austin comedians one on one about comedy, sincerity, and twitter. There are lots of other podcasts to listen to, but I have fun making this one.  New episodes every Thursday. (SUBSCRIBE ON iTUNES!)

The bit of music is an old cover of a song I wrote by Kyle Patrick Eklund.

Episode #49: Chris Magyar

Chris Magyar (@chrisjmagyar) had a personal annoucement to make at the beginning of the latest Sincere Tweets, one that led to a fascinating conversation about comedy, identity, and life. Easily one of the best episodes (and conversations I've had) ever.

Episode #48: Ella Gale

Ella Galle (@hellakale) is a year into stand up comedy but has some of the sharpest jokes in town already. I talked to her about shifting life priorities, sitting down to actually write jokes, Yemen, and more!

Episode #47: Christina Parrish

Christina Parrish (@ibespuer) is an improviser, sketch performer, short-film-writer, and stand up that is one of the most unique presences and one of my favorite people. We talked about social anxiety, self-hatred, giraffes, unicorns, and a lot of other things.

Episode #46: Annie Lieber

A week before she made the Semi-Finals in the Funniest Person in Austin Contest, Annie Lieber (@annie_lieber) stopped by to chat about how her job as a psychotherapist informs doing standup, what her nerves are like after 14 months in, and a lot more. A real fun one to record!

Episode #45: Avery Moore

Avery Moore (@AveryReedMoore) moved to Austin from San Antonio in late 2012, and is now an intergral part of the comedy scene. She co-hosts a monthly showcase called The Vapid Show the first Monday of every month at Spiderhouse, where she also hosts an open mic every Monday at midnight. Also starting this week she'll be hosting and booking The Late Slot, every Friday at the Velveeta Room at 11:00.  We talk about family, comedy, keeping track of thoughts, how comedy forces you to make friends, and a lot more!

Episode #44: Ramin Nazer

Ramin Nazer (@raminnazer) is one of the funniest comics I've been lucky enough to see perform, let alone get to know. He's a winner of the Funniest Person in Austin contest, a performer for Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival and many others, and appeared on The Late Late Show. We talk about many things: novelty twitters, how music informs comedy kind of, editing material, and his show Live at Coldtowne. Great episode- nobody thinks or talks like Ramin.

Episode #43: Kat Combs

Kat Combs (@itskatcombs) is a comic a couple years into comedy here in Austin- recently she and I have been talking about our thoughts and feelings, so it ocurred to me she'd be the perfect next guests. We talk about being percieved as laid back, the contast questioning of our own thoughts, the effect of alcohol and drugs on creativity, and a lot more.  Sometimes I feel pretentious and deep, hopefully it makes for good listening.

Episode #42: Jeff Solomon

New Austin comic (by way of Philly) Jeff Solomon (@JeffeSolomon) reached out to me to do the show, and I thought why not? The first guest of Sincere Tweets that I haven't even seen perform yet, we talk comedy beginnings, the intial Austin impression, social media reluctance, and many other familiar show topics. Get to know Jeff at the same time I do!

Episode #40: Rob Gagnon

Rob Gagnon is one of the funniest performers and busiest comedy people on the Austin scene! He hosts or co-hosts Block Party, Pass the Mic, Rob Gagnon's One Hour Comedy Festival, Stoned Vs. Drunk Vs. Sober, the ATX Comedy Hour, he's part of the Laugh, Dammit! cast with me, he does improv and sketch with John Buseman as AC Lerok, and pitches in at The New Movement Theater as the stand up director. All of this is in addition to working on his own stand up act, and working a full time job. I'm not sure how he's alive at this point, but Rob and I had a fun time discussing it all, along with goofing about generally.

Episode #39: Pat Dean

Pat Dean, along with Lane Krarup, co-hosts both an open mic at Kick Butt Coffee every Wednesday here in Austin (that directly conflicts with mine) as well as a storytelling podcast called Storyfellers (which has featured many of my past guests).  Pat and I discussed the usual comedy and twitter things, as well as many other things we have in common: being 29 enjoying being alone, and the time we worked as day-laborers for one weekend and I got my smartphone stolen after ten days.

All in all it was a fun, breezy episode, recorded directly before Pat had to go do comedy in a bear-suit. Follow Pat on twitter @DeanManP, and check out Storyfellers.

Episode #38: Zac Brooks

Houston transplant Zac Brooks (@ZacBrooks) is a very funny comic, less than 2 years into comedy and quickly establishing himself here in Austin after moving here this summer. We had a fun chat about self-deprecation (he's not a big sincere tweeter, as it happens), hypothetical humor versus literal humor, race stuff, and a whole lot more.

Kerri Lendo (@KerriLendo) is a Funniest Person in Austin Finalist, an award-winner filmmaker, and actress. We talk about balancing diverse creative efforts, her starring role in local-film-production Pictures of Superheroes, and more!

He is a Funniest Person in Austin winner, and has performed in festivals like Moontower, Bridgetown, and Montreal's Just For Laughs. We talk about being bad at small talk, but also not being "bit" conversational comedian types, what taping Live at Gotham was like, and a lot more.

Episode #34: Ralphie Hardesty

Ralphie Hardesty (@RalphieHardesty) has done the Moontower, Bridgetown, and San Francisco Comedy & Burrito Festivals, and is generally one of Austin's funniest, most positive people. We have a fun chat about the festival mindset, being a gay comic, and much more.

Episode #33: Blake Midgette

Blake Midgette (@BlakeMidgette) owns the best voice in Austin comedy. He's basically constantly narrating a movie trailer. We talk about his gradual shift from music to comedy, edginess for its own sake, and his early comedy days in Richmond, VA. Check out his show the Drunk Spelling Bee the third monday of every month at The Mohawk!

Episode #32: Live from SURE THING

For the one year anniversary of SURE THING (@SURETHINGatx), the show I co-host with my friend and past guest Brendan K. O'Grady (@BKOgrady), we did a combination live stand up show AND Sincere Tweets recording! Past guests Amber Bixby (@bixbot) and Andrew Tompkins (@andrewtompkins) were there, along with Austin comedy stalwarts Cody Hustak (@CodyHustak) and Bryan Gutmann (@BryanGutmann), along with Brendan to co-host the hybrid show with me, and a very encouraging crowd!

I'm thrilled to have had the show for a whole year, and this podcast for 32 episodes! Thanks for listening, and come to Austin Java every Saturday at 8 for Austin's best FREE comedy show, SURE THING.

Brian Gaar (@briangaar) stops by Sincere Tweets! Brian is a super-funny comic that has performed at both Moontowers, Out of Bounds Fest, the NC Comedy Arts Festival, and more- also he is a prolific twitter joke writer with a mythical amount of followers.
