DUNCAN CARSON, COMEDIAN

I have a podcast called "Sincere Tweets" where I interview other Austin comedians one on one about comedy, sincerity, and twitter. There are lots of other podcasts to listen to, but I have fun making this one.  New episodes every Monday. (SUBSCRIBE ON iTUNES!)

The bit of music is an old cover of a song I wrote by Kyle Patrick Eklund.

Episode #32: Live from SURE THING

For the one year anniversary of SURE THING (@SURETHINGatx), the show I co-host with my friend and past guest Brendan K. O'Grady (@BKOgrady), we did a combination live stand up show AND Sincere Tweets recording! Past guests Amber Bixby (@bixbot) and Andrew Tompkins (@andrewtompkins) were there, along with Austin comedy stalwarts Cody Hustak (@CodyHustak) and Bryan Gutmann (@BryanGutmann), along with Brendan to co-host the hybrid show with me, and a very encouraging crowd!

I'm thrilled to have had the show for a whole year, and this podcast for 32 episodes! Thanks for listening, and come to Austin Java every Saturday at 8 for Austin's best FREE comedy show, SURE THING.

Dallas-emigree Adam Shumate (@THE_SHOOMATAY) is one of my favorite people and comics. This episode contains fun facts, a review of Adam's very few tweets, and some of the most personal material Sincere Tweets has ever covered. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it.

Episode #11: Michael Pearson

For the eleventh Sincere Tweets, I wanted to talk to one of Austin's newer comics about how they're finding the Austin scene so far- Michael Pearson (@michaelpearsun) is a one liner comic that is nine months into stand up. After chatting a little about twitter anxiety, and saving bad jokes, we start reviewing nearly all of the open mics in the city, from Monday to Sunday (sort of an audio version of an Austin-American Statesman article that followed Kath Barbadoro around for a week).

Lots of the feedback for the show so far is coming from new comics in Austin, so I thought a tour of the open mic week would be helpful. And again, the website to check for open mic listings we talk about is lastgascomedy.com. Bookmark that already.

The tenth episode finally features my good friend, hilarious comic, and co-host of The Laugh Lounge Brendan K. O'Grady (Fun Fun Fun Fest, Out of Bounds Fest, PUNCH!).
